3 lineups for Cavs to juice offense: Spanish Love
Ricky Rubio, Donovan Mitchell, Cedi Osman, Kevin Love, Robin Lopez
Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio were teammates and close friends on the Minnesota Timberwolves to start their careers. They developed a chemistry that carried over last season when Rubio joined the Cavaliers. Yet during the years that they were separated each found some other teammates they worked well with. This lineup tries to bring everyone together.
You get the incredible chemistry between Rubio and Love, but during the Cavs’ rebuilding years Love built something of a rapport with Cedi Osman, and the two work well together as shooters with some ball skills as well. Add in Donovan Mitchell who played with Rubio for two seasons in Utah; he can run plays with Love or Lopez back in a more traditional roll…erm, role.
Robin Lopez brings his own quirky personality and a low-scraping hook shot to this group. He also gives them something of a paint presence as without him this lineup trends small and light in the shorts. His offensive rebounding will be key to restart possessions as well.
