The Cleveland Cavaliers were facing a roster crunch just a few short weeks ago, with 15 players and Collin Sexton still waiting to be signed in restricted free agency. That changed in a hurry when the Cavs traded for Donovan Mitchell, sending Sexton and two other players and only taking back the singular All-Star guard.

For those who don’t have 15 fingers, the Cavs now sit at 14 players on the roster, with 12 guaranteed contracts and two non-guaranteed deals that are a virtual lock to be retained in Lamar Stevens and Dean Wade. That leaves one open spot for the Cavs to fill via either trade or free agency.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have a roster spot left to fill. What free agent wings are still available for the Cavs to sign for their 15th spot?

This late in the NBA offseason the free agent pickings are slim, and so if the Cavs are able to add a player via trade — perhaps as a 1-for-2 trade for Caris LeVert — they should do so. They can also go into the season with 14 players and keep an eye out for buyout candidates. Yet given the team’s focus on competing for a high seed and the propensity of injuries and other absences in the modern NBA, having as much depth as possible is the wisest move.

Which players still available could the Cavs sign in free agency? There are still plenty of viable centers and a few intriguing point guards, but they are unlikely options because (1) the Cavs don’t have a need there because of their depth at both positions, and (2) those players won’t want to sign in Cleveland because that depth means a lack of playing time.

The Cavs need to be targeting wing depth, so let’s look at three free agent wings still available for the Cavs to sign with their 15th and final roster spot.
