Mitchell trade slam dunk for Cavs – Reason No. 1: The Cavs fan base gets a new star

While the team got a lot better with the trade for Mitchell, now the fans of Cleveland get a new star to cheer on. His new Cavalier teammates seem happy too! The Cavs aren’t the best team in the NBA, but they have been able to build a contender in just a couple of seasons after Lebron James left a few years ago.

I’ve said for a while that these new post-James teams were still living in the shadow of James. Last season, things really changed when the team drafted Evan Mobley. With the ever-growing confidence of both Garland and Allen as well this past year, now being able to add a legitimate NBA All-Star is very exciting.

The sky’s the limit with this team already because they are still so young. Adding a powerhouse scorer like Mitchell can only make this team stronger. I’ve heard since the trade went through on social media platforms that Mitchell isn’t a great defender. Let us remember the Cavs also have the strongest and most talented frontcourt in the league in Mobley and Allen. That fact will help motivate the new star of the team.
