Mitchell trade slam dunk for Cavs – Reason No. 2: Cavs roster just got much stronger

There are some today who don’t see a big difference between Collin Sexton and Donovan Mitchell but there are massive differences. Mitchell by statistics alone is a big improvement but it’s also the fact that Mitchell helped his teams stay in contention and reach the playoffs when he was with the Jazz. While Sexton will be missed, we certainly didn’t see a drop-off last season when he went down for the season with an injury. Sexton could score baskets, but Mitchell’s scoring average is still better than Sexton’s. Mitchell’s All-Star level talent can now provide so much more to a young and talented group of Cavaliers.

The team now has probably one of the strongest starting lineups in the league. Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen were all part of All-Star weekend in Cleveland a year ago. This season all three players and now Mitchell should be All-Stars.

The team has two of the best big men in the league and is now an All-Star backcourt. They should be fun to watch this season.

Several prominent former NBA greats even chimed in on the addition of Mitchell to Cleveland including Earvin “Magic” Johnson.

The NBA is driven by star power, and the Cavs now have as much of it as anyone.
