The Cleveland Cavaliers pulled off one of the biggest trades in franchise history after sending Collin Sexton, Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji, three unprotected first-round picks, and two pick swaps to the Utah Jazz in exchange for All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell. For clarification, you can view the reported details involving the deal here.

By adding Mitchell, the Cavs now have three All-Stars on their roster and one soon-to-be All-Star in Evan Mobley. If that’s not elite firepower, then I don’t know what is.

After narrowly missing the playoffs last season, shot creation was a huge issue the team needed to address. While they probably would have avoided the Play-In Tournament altogether if Sexton were healthy, imagine what they could have done with Mitchell?

The Cavs shocked the basketball world with a blockbuster trade for Donovan Mitchell. What should we expect from the Cavs moving forward?

The haul for the three-time All-Star might have been a lot, but there aren’t too many players in the NBA that can put the ball in the basketball like Donovan Mitchell. Whether you think they gave up too much or not, having a player of this caliber on your team makes them better, it’s really that simple.

Entering the 2022-23 season with an immediate boost to their young core, the expectations have now changed. They aren’t the team that’s just happy to have more wins than losses anymore. Making an aggressive move comes with an aggressive mindset and that’s exactly what I expect from this group this season.

Here are some realistic expectations for the Cavaliers following one of the biggest moves of the offseason.
