Goal #1: Repeat as an All-Star

The first goal for Jarrett Allen in the 2022-23 season is to make his second consecutive All-Star appearance. This will be a tall task as Darius Garland continues to grow as a player and Mobley further comes into his own as a possible generational talent. As previously mentioned, Allen does not need the ball in his hands for him to be at the top of his game, however, he will still have to score around 16-18 points per game to make it back to the All-Star Game.

Last season, Allen finished 5th in voting for the Eastern Conference frontcourt. Only falling behind Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, and Jayson Tatum. Barring any injuries, it is unlikely that he will finish in front of any of them this coming season.

He can only slip one more spot and still make it into the All-Star Game, as Jimmy Butler who finished behind Allen last year still made the cut. With players like Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Pascal Siakim closely behind Allen, he will have to have another fantastic year to make it in.

As long as Allen can continue to dominate on the boards and the defensive side of the floor, there should be little to no doubt that he will once again make it to the All-Star Game.

With the plethora of weapons, playmakers, and potential PnR partners on the Cavaliers roster, Allen’s offensive numbers should not take a considerable enough dip to eliminate him from All-Star Game contention, and in particular, if the Cavaliers play how they’re capable overall.
