2 goals for Cavs’ Evan Mobley in the 2022-23 season
By Zane Harris
Evan Mobley exceeded the very high expectations that were set for him coming into his rookie season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Mobley was the clear frontrunner to win the Rookie of the Year award before he suffered a sprained right elbow. The Toronto Raptors’ Scottie Barnes took the award at the finish line with Mobley being sidelined. However, his second year in the league is shaping up to be another very promising one.
Mobley has one of if not the brightest future on the current Cavaliers roster. With both Mobley and the Cavs trending upward, it is a very exciting time in Cleveland. He is primed to make a big jump from his first to second season in the NBA. With some more experience under his belt, he could end up turning even more heads than in his rookie year.
In his rookie campaign, Mobley averaged 15.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. He is an incredible two way player, however, with him still being such a young player, there are still areas of his game that are unpolished and he has some room to improve. Along with this, with Mobley being more experienced this next season, there are areas of his game in which he excelled at last season that he will continue to improve on.
There are two things specifically that Mobley should be able to improve in the 2022-2023 season that would put him on a great track to continue being one of the most talented young stars in the entire NBA. Here, we’ll highlight two goals for him that’d show he’s continuing on the right trajectory.
