The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently in Las Vegas Summer League with the likes of rookie Ochai Agbaji and even RJ Nembhard impressing in the first two games. Agbaji figures to play a role that could involve him being an impact 3-and-D guy, while Nembhard, a two-way contributor, hopes to down the road have an important spot on the roster. Another familiar face dropped by recently in Cavaliers Summer League warmups, too, in Cleveland Browns superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett.

Garrett is well known as being arguably being the NFL’s best pass rusher and is firmly in the discussion for the best defensive player in the league, however, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Myles Garrett show off his basketball skills. In the All-Star Game last season, with it being in Cleveland, Garrett was one of the biggest household names in attendance and played in the Celebrity Game and showed off his world class athleticism, such as in these plays.

Recently, Garrett participated in Cavaliers Summer League warmups, and had some impressive throwdowns.

Garrett has long been a huge supporter of the Cavs, and it was cool to see him in Summer League warmups with the Wine and Gold.

As we’ve seen in Summer League, the Cavaliers got new summer and improved Summer League jerseys, of which Garrett apparently got a couple of the new Summer League practice jerseys.  Garrett also said how basketball is a game that “I love,” and that it’s “always been a part of my life.”

That was cool to hear, and it’s been awesome to see him embrace the Cavs.

Myles Garrett  will likely surpass Clay Matthews Sr. for most sacks in franchise history in a lot less games. He’s well on his way to being the best defensive player in Browns history and one of the best in franchise history when it’s all said and done. I think it’s great for the city, fans and the entire community when the Cavs, Browns and Cleveland Guardians are all working together and supporting each other.

Garrett has been the most dominant player of note close to the Cavaliers, but he isn’t the only one, as we’ve seen Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II as one of the Cavs’ biggest fans and he was at a bunch of games this past season. During football season we saw times where the Cavs players supported the browns and would show up to their games as well.

Having a player of Garrett’s caliber and stature being linked to the Cavs, an ascending squad, is really cool and a great thing for Cleveland sports in general. The Cavs have yet to announce their actual new uniforms, but one would think they’ll be dropping sooner rather later.

When the Cavaliers ultimately unveil the new jerseys and if they included him in it, having an icon of the caliber of Garrett would be something fans of Cleveland sports would love and appreciate.
