Who is on Cavs’ Summer League roster? The Bigs

Player to Know: Isaiah Mobley

The older brother of Evan Mobley, Isaiah is a highly-skilled big who is going to be groomed for a long-term backup role on the Cavs. He’ll start this season on a two-way deal after being drafted 49th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft. Watch for his slick passing ability that should result in a few highlight plays in Las Vegas.

Other bigs: Nate Reuvers, Amar Sylia, Jamorko Pickett

Nate Reuvers is another Big 10 alum, a big man from Wisconsin who played overseas last season in Croatia after going undrafted. He has some decent range and is a solid enough rim protector, but he will need to demonstrate better foot speed in space to have a shot at a big-league deal.

Amar Sylia is a Senagalese power forward without a lot of skill, but he has played on very successful lower-level European teams the past few seasons and been a key player on a rising Senagalese national team. Last but not lease, Jamorko Pickett went undrafted in 2021 and caught on with the Detroit Pistons last season, appearing in 13 games and showing some versatility as a long-term backup big, provided he can…say it with me…”shoot the basketball.”

From Ochai Agbaji to Amar Sylia, the Cavaliers’ Summer League roster features a wide range of players. It doesn’t boast the star power of many other teams, but that’s because guys like Evan Mobley have already proven themselves in the league. Fans can watch to see if a gem is uncovered in the desert heat.
