#2: Will Barton

With what Will Barton might lack in size, he makes up for in his abilities. The 6’5″ wing is a solid shooter, playmaker and defender; everything a team might want in wing.

Over the last seven seasons, Barton has been nothing but solid for the Denver Nuggets. He averaged 14.2 points per game, 5 rebounds and 3.4 assists while shooting 43.7% from the field, 36.5% from deep and playing some solid defense on the other end of the court. He’s the perfect utility player.

The 31-year-old was reportedly recently traded to the Washington Wizards, per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, in a move that also brought them Monte Morris, the reliable point guard they’ve been searching for. With Bradley Beal declining his player option and the team getting younger and younger, I don’t see a fit for Will Barton.

For a team that looks to be aggressive this offseason, I wouldn’t be shocked if they try to move Barton before the season starts. Considering what the Cavaliers should be looking for, Barton fits the bill.

Given the situation he’s in and his age, I can’t imagine trading for Will Barton would come at a hefty price. This would be the perfect low risk, high reward move that could move the needle for the Cavs in an Eastern Conference that’s getting better by the day.

If Cleveland wants to keep up with the rest of the teams in the conference and ascend in the standings, trading for Will Barton just might be the move they need to make.
