The Cleveland Cavaliers are a young team. That doesn’t mean they won’t add veteran players; every team trying to compete in the playoffs needs solid veterans, such as Al Horford on the Boston Celtics last season or Andre Iguodala on the original Golden State Warriors title team.

It does mean that a young team plays the long game, trying to build a roster of players that will grow together and all be ready to compete at the right time. The Cavs have an extremely young core built around Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, all 24 years old and younger. The pieces they add should have a chance of helping them compete when that core is ready in a few years.

The Cleveland Cavaliers could look for younger players in free agency. Here are three under 25 years old that could be signed by the Cavs this summer.

As NBA Free Agency kicks off, the Cavs should try to add a couple of young pieces to their roster who have the upside to be part of their long-term rotation. Adding a veteran like Robin Lopez or Kyle Anderson can help them this season, but hitting big on a younger player gives them another piece of their core.

To that end, here are three players aged 25 and under who could sign with the Cavs this summer, and who have the potential to reignite their careers and be long-term pieces for this team. Of the three, this first one would be an excellent selection if the Cavs decide not to retain Collin Sexton.
