The Cleveland Cavaliers have a good group of players. They are mostly young, with a few older vets sprinkled in, and seem to genuinely enjoy playing with one another. Yet they are far from a perfect roster, with a handful of low-ceiling players and a whole bunch of players forced to play out of position by a lack of small forwards on the roster.

Because it is clear this roster will need to continue to be shaped moving forward, a moment like the 2022 NBA Draft is a harrowing one for some of the players. Will a new draft pick take their place? Will a trade go down bringing in their replacement, or worse, shipping them out?

While some players on the roster got put on the hot seat, these players felt their posteriors cool down a bit.

Whether it was the Cavs not drafting their replacement, or simply not trading them away, here are three players who “won” on draft night with their spot on the team and in the rotation becoming a bit safer.
