Eastern Conference NBA Draft Grades: Chicago Bulls

Picks: Dalen Terry, Wing, Arizona (18);

The Chicago Bulls’ offseason will be defined by whether or not Zach LaVine re-signs, but they have to go about the rest of their summer assuming he will. That means selecting players who will work with the current roster, and the Bulls….may have done that at 18.

On the one hand, Dalen Terry is an intriguing player. He’s essentially a 6’7″ point guard who can defend any perimeter players and makes every team he plays on better. The question becomes whether he is something redundant with Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso on board.

Instead, they have a massive need for depth at the big positions, and a player such as E.J. Liddell could have really helped the team as well. Terry was good value and not a bad pick, but there was someone who looked similarly valuable and an even better fit on the board. Given how far Liddell fell, though, perhaps NBA teams knew something we didn’t.

Grade: B-
