Final mock featuring selections in the 2022 NBA Draft Lottery
It’s somewhat hard to believe that we are only about a day away from the 2022 NBA Draft. Over the past couple of months and weeks, we have taken a look at a lot of different prospects like likely top three picks Jabari Smith, Chet Holmgren, and Paolo Banchero. Having said that, with the Cleveland Cavaliers selecting outside of the top five for the first time since 2018, the teams drafting ahead of them will dictate what options the Cavaliers will have at 14.
Most scouts and people around the league tap the Cavs to draft a wing this offseason. On top of that the Cavs need another playmaker on the court other than Darius Garland. Hopefully Collin Sexton can fill that void at times, but drafting a two-way wing with a good frame has to be a top priority for the Cavaliers.
Jalen Williams, Malaki Branham, Ousmane Dieng, and even Johnny Davis have been linked to the Cavaliers throughout the draft process. All of them have big, strong frames, and can score from anywhere on the court. Jalen Williams is another player that has been linked to the Cavaliers, and he may be the ideal pick as a multi-faceted player. An efficient scorer, and playmaker, he could play a huge role in the Cavalier offense next season. Overall, there are a lot of good options for the Cavs in this draft, especially at the end of the lottery in that case.
Earlier this week, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reported that the Cavs have about 10 prospects in mind when it comes to the 14th pick. Prospects Ochai Agbaji, Malaki Branham, and Jalen Williams all reportedly have visited with the Cavs and conducted a workout for the team. However, it’s finally time for me to dive into my final lottery mock draft.
So without further ado, the Orlando Magic are on the clock.
