Finally, after four back and forth games to start the series, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in six games to win their fourth championship in eight years. Even so, I could care less about the Celtics or Warriors, as we are officially less than a week away from the 2022 NBA Draft. With only a handful of days between now and the draft, a lot of teams have trimmed their big boards, and are now honing in on who they could realistically select this offseason.

Over the last month, I’ve talked about a lot of prospects that the Cleveland Cavaliers might be interested in with the 14th pick. Johnny Davis, Malaki Branham, and even Ousmane Dieng could be Cavaliers by this time next week. However, their first-round pick isn’t the only spot where the Cavs might look to add some talent. As we’ve seen over the years, there are a number of good future pros that will be drafted in the second round.

Luckily for the Cavs, they have the 39th and 56th overall picks in the second round of the NBA Draft. Previously I had expressed my interest in guys like Jean Montero, E.J. Liddell, and even Patrick Baldwin Jr.

But, in the latest CBS Sports 2022 NBA Mock Draft, all three of those players are off the board by the time the Cavs select at pick 39. Jordan Poole and Kevon Looney are prime examples of late first-round players that had major influence on a team’s success. With that being said, let’s take a deeper look at three players the Cavaliers could draft in the second round, that could help them over the hump next season.
