Dyson Daniels’ legs (lateral movement/explosion)

Dyson Daniels is one prospect who had a massive combine performance. The G-League wing/guard measured in at 6’6″ and 195 pounds. On top of that his wingspan and standing reach were very impressive.

Plus, he was one of the quickest and explosive players at the combine overall, finishing top 10 in lane agility (10.81 seconds), and had the fastest shuttle run (2.81 seconds) all week. With a 6’10.5″ wingspan, he has nearly the perfect frame for the NBA today, especially considering he should be doing some lead ball-handling at the next level.

Like I said, his frame is impressive, but at 195 pounds could have room for growth still, and he will need to bulk up in the NBA, as do most prospects. However, his shuttle time shows how quick Daniels is, and his lane agility time showed how explosive he can be. He’s already being heralded as a prospect who could immediately be a great defender in the NBA. Even still, his long arms also allow him to get into passing lanes, and be a pest to opposing ball-handlers.

Daniels may have to work on his offensive game, but his speed and quickness are perfect for a versatile perimeter defender in today’s NBA.
