NBA Draft Big Board 2.0: The Top 30 players in the draft
NBA Draft Big Board 2.0: No. 13-15
13. Mark Williams, Center, Duke
Mark Williams is massive. At the NBA Draft Combine he measured as 7’2″ tall with a 7’6″ wingspan, and his standing reach of 9’9″ would be the highest in the league among rotation players (Tacko Fall measured higher). That foundational size makes him a monster defending the rim, but he has some agility in space too. On offense, he is a classic rim-runner and offensive rebounder, with some flashes of a jumper that could develop down the line.
14. Jalen Duren, Center, Duke
Jalen Duren reclassified into the 2022 NBA Draft class, and as one of the youngest players in the class boasts a ton of upside. He also was very inconsistent as a (young) freshman at Memphis. His size, shot-blocking and finishing all project well for a classic big man, screening to roll to the rim and finishing if passed the ball. Can he be more? He likely thinks so, and if he’s right he is a steal at 14. If he’s not, then he’s still a reliable rim protector and paint finisher.
15. Malaki Branham, Wing, Ohio State
Some freshmen come into the college season expecting it to be their last; the classic “one-and-done” types. Others are expected to be multi-year players but end up exploding and declaring for the draft early. This happened to Malaki Branham this season, the 6’4″ wing who had an excellent season for the Buckeyes. He can dribble, pass and shoot, and defensively he plays hard with good physical tools. He projects as more of a role player than a star, but he will be an excellent role player and still could develop into something more.
