Star Wars Day: Which characters are the Cavs most like?
Star Wars Day: Cavs as villains
Which Cavaliers are aligned with villains from the Star Wars universe?
Kevin Love = Darth Maul
Once one of the most talented young players in the league, Kevin Love became a part of the evil Empire by joining up with the latest LeBron James super team in Cleveland. He did something unique, a big man who feasted inside also becoming a 3-point specialist: just like Darth Maul was unique with his two-bladed lightsaber. But then disaster struck, with injuries limiting Love’s effectiveness (although not quite so bad as being cut in half).
Then both came back with a vengeance, redefining themselves in a new role: Love as a bench gunner in his Sixth Man role, Maul as the leader of a criminal syndicate with mechanical legs to carry him around. Do you think Love would be open to a red-and-black face tattoo to complete the comparison?
Caris LeVert = Stormtrooper
Stormtroopers look like a good idea. A legion of armored soldiers with blaster rifles ready to overwhelm any opponent? Unfortunately, the reality is that they are volume shooters, filling the air with shots but proving to be terribly inaccurate. And defensively the armor is worth less than nothing; little teddy bears can take them out with sticks and stones. Uh, you can connect the dots to LeVert.
Koby Altman = Emperor Palpatine
The puppet master behind the scenes, Koby Altman took over the front office and has pulled the strings of this team for years. He isn’t on the court playing the games, but he is integral to understanding what is going on. He initially was appointed to the position during a time of prosperity, but then seemed to be worn down by the losing years. It looked like he might be on his way out, but he hung in there and now is back in force overseeing a suddenly dynamic rise – something like Palpatine clinging to life and bringing back the First Order.
Which comparison do you think was the most accurate? Who did we miss? May the Fourth be with you!!
