Other Cavs Teammates

Let’s just say Sexton does not start next season, for the sake of the article, in the event he’s back next season, which reportedly seems likely. Who would start at the 2 guard then? There are only two options, in my opinion. Let’s go through both of the players.

Isaac Okoro – Okoro is a solid defender, so he definitely fits the Cavs’ defensive mindset. He is not much of a floor spacer, but in my opinion, he will get to be a solid shooter in time. He is a decent finisher around the rim, and can provide Cleveland with quality corner 3-point shooting. He is 6’5,” which would be better than Sexton, as he is only 6’1”.

Caris LeVert – In my opinion, LeVert should be the starter, as his defensive stats are a bit better than Sexton, and he is taller. Also, his assist/turnover ratio last year for Indiana was a 2.28, which is good for a shooting guard. I won’t count this season for Cleveland, as in my opinion, he didn’t get enough time to get acclimated to Cleveland’s system and team.

Sexton had a 114.0 defensive rating last season, while LeVert had a 113.4, which is not much of a difference, but I’d still take LeVert, as he is taller and has a bigger wingspan.
