3 ways the Cavs can have a successful home stand

#3: The Cavs need to cut down on turnovers
In the last 10 games, the Wine and Gold have only had one game under 10 turnovers in a game. They’ve averaged 13.9 turnovers per game over those 10 games and that number has to come down.
Taking care of the ball and protecting it like the ball was the most valuable thing in your life can’t be emphasized enough. Every possession in these last 15 games of the season will be so important. Limiting mistakes is a must.
It starts with Garland at the point guard position. He needs to limit any careless passes and take care of the ball on his dribble, which has been an issue of late, and was at the Chicago Bulls in a loss on Saturday. He’s come a long way from just a year ago as far as his confidence and superior play in stretches. The Cavs rookie big man Mobley has to continue to step up to the plate every night and make sure to make smart decisions, too.
There have been a few times in the last couple of games where he’d find himself stuck in traffic in the lane after being double-teamed and has turned the ball over. Those moments have to be limited as the team can’t afford careless turnovers.
These next five games on their home floor should hopefully give these Cavaliers a final spark to help get this team to the finish line.
If you are at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in these next two weeks cheering on your favorite team, make sure to be very loud and help your team reach the playoffs.
