Three blockbuster Collin Sexton trade scenarios for the Cavs
Three Blockbuster Collin Sexton Trades: 3. Toronto Raptors
Gary Trent Jr. has become one of the best three-and-D players in the NBA since he’s joined the Toronto Raptors. Not only that, but he has also developed a midrange shot and his ball-handling has come a long way as well, looking like a potential future All-Star.
The Cavaliers would have to give up a good package to pull this trade off. Not only Sexton but also Cedi Osman who has been a high-level role player his entire career with the Cavs. and a protected first-round pick in the upcoming draft.
This is possibly the best trade in terms of fit with the roster, as the Cavaliers would add two 3-and-D-style players in Trent Jr. and Mykhailiuk. The Cavs gain size and spacing through this trade, both of which have become invaluable in today’s NBA. The roster would then draw similarities to the 2013-14 Golden State Warriors roster, with a good structure to build off of.
This is possibly the best trade the Cavaliers can make due to the fit of the players on the roster and cost of the players being received.
Sexton may not be able to suit up to help the Cavs this season, but he may be able to help them by being the center point of a trade as Cleveland looks for ways to improve the roster over the next month ahead of the February 10th trade deadline.
