Tuesday, November 30th, 2021: Banchero’s Great But What About Griffin and Keels?

At this point in the season, if you haven’t watched a Duke basketball game, then you have been living under a rock. In the first game of the season the Blue Devils knocked off Kentucky, and just this past weekend they beat a very good top-ranked Gonzaga team to start their season an undefeated 7-0. Freshman wing Paolo Banchero has looked very good so far this year, but there are some other guys on the squad that you should check out Tuesday.

Trevor Keels had his best game of the season thus far in the win over Kentucky. However, his scoring average has dropped to 12.3 points per game. With that being said, he might be a perfect fit for the Cavs. He’s shown the intensity and desire to be a top-level defender, and his long-range shooting is getting better. On top of that he’s a small but great rebounder, and is a good floor general, simply because he gets everybody involved.

The more intriguing prospect to watch this week will be Blue Devil’s wing A.J. Griffin. Last year due to COVID restrictions and injuries, Griffin sat out his final high school basketball season. On the year at Duke he’s averaging only 11 minutes per game while he recovers from injury. Griffin’s shooting stroke is near perfect, but the problem is we just don’t have a lot to go off of with Griffin in a Duke uniform.

Overall it should be a great week of some very competitive college basketball games. Ohio State can absolutely stay with the Blue Devils tomorrow night. On top of that, there’s no reason to believe that the North Carolina Tar Heels can’t take down the Michigan Wolverines on Wednesday night. Boy, wouldn’t that be fun?
