Cavs stud: Jarrett Allen

Allen picked up where he left off with his team. He had been missing from action the last three games due to an illness. His return to the team and what he adds on the interior on both ends of the floor can and will keep this Cavs team competitive on most nights.

He finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds on the evening. He tallied a couple assists and the customary block on the evening. He finished his evening out with a nice dunk as the Cavaliers scored late in the game on a transition basket. When Allen and the rest of the big men on the Wine and Gold run the floor good things usually occur. Now, He did miss a few free throws late and every point matters with this team and that needs to be cleaned up.

Though Allen was definitely a stud last night, there still were a few moments where he needs to be stronger on the interior or grabbing a late game board that still have me wanting more from the big fella.

On two offensive possessions he wasn’t powerful going through the contact. On one shot he tried shooting over a double team and had his shot blocked. On another attempt he went away from the basket to take the shot that he missed, instead of going up toward the hoop. These are a small sampling of mistakes and by no means suggests he wasn’t doing a great job last night.

However, those moments are ones that Allen and his teammates need to conquer in order to win more consistently.
