Cavs stud: The “Tower City” frontcourt

I will admit, I was a bit skeptical of how well the frontcourt duo of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen would play. But, I was proven wrong, as the duo was incredible last night. As I stated earlier, Allen led the Cavs in scoring and rebounding, stuffing the stat sheet with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Mobley played great as well, going 7-of-15 from the field, and piling up 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The duo was great on the defensive side of the court as well. Allen had three blocks, and while Mobley only had one, it’s easy to watch a game and see how great he is defensively. There were times when Mobley was put in some tough situations defensively, but in the end he always came through. He will need to work on his turnovers, as he had more turnovers (4), than assists (3) on Monday night.

There’s a possibility that Evan Mobley could become a Giannis Antetokounmpo-like defender, where he can pretty much guard any position on the basketball court. Mobley needs to add some weight and get stronger to keep up with the bigs in the NBA, though. On the plus side, he has one of the best rim protectors in the league to learn from, in the form of Allen.

Overall, call Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley what you want, I prefer, “Tower City.” Either way these two are young stars in the league, and if they can continue to play at the level they did last night, Cleveland will be a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference.
