Cavs: The final verdict

Let’s just cut right to the chase, if the Cavaliers have the opportunity to trade for Reddish with the package above, they should make the move, in my opinion. Looking deeper into the package, Okoro is someone whose offensive game will take a decent amount of time to come around, especially considering his new role.

Being the bottom-feeders of the league for some years now, I would like to see them be aggressive in returning back to contention and with the talent on the team, they can afford to take some risks.

A top-10 protected pick seems best to give up. If they bottom out once again, they can keep their pick but if they can make some noise, even if it’s making the play-in, losing out on a low-lottery player may be worth Reddish AND the postseason experience.

Reddish’s fit is flawless with the team. He has main perimeter defender potential and could use his 7-foot-1 wingspan to harass opposing ball-handlers and agility/quickness to stay in front of those shifty guards. Seeing how opposing teams attack Markkanen, Reddish’s defensive abilities would be a warm sight.

Offensively, Reddish is shooting 44 percent from three on five attempts per game through five games. That percentage is sure to fluctuate but that three-point aggression is needed, especially for a team that has struggled in this area.

There’s also the on-ball aspect when it comes to Reddish as stated earlier. The Paul George comparisons are excessive at this stage of Reddish’s career, but you can see why he gets those considering how comfortable he is putting the ball on the floor and how much finesse he has for a player of his size.

Envisioning him as a starter for the team, he adds a third ball-handler to that lineup, taking offensive pressure off the SexLand backcourt during his minutes with them. The off-ball movement for him is also worth noting as his ability as a shooter and slasher is well-known.

If he were to come off the bench, his role should be the same, adding another ball-handler to that lineup and flourishing in an off-ball role as well.

The Cavaliers have the playmakers to make Cam’s life easy, and if this team can pull a trade off, it would be the aggressive move to fill a void that was neglected this offseason, all while building on the young core already established.
