Big Question # 2: Are the Cavs set on their bench rotation?

Obviously, injuries can occur but are the Cavs set on their bench rotations? It seems that way through five games. With this new starting lineup that includes three 7-footers, the bench rotation has become three primary players including Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio and Isaac Okoro with a little Cedi Osman sprinkled in. Lamar Stevens got some good minutes in the game against the Clippers because Okoro is recovering from a minor injury.

Players like Dylan Windler and Dean Wade seem to be players that were getting some good minutes in the past but aren’t in the mix this season. I’ve been a big supporter of Wade, the former Kansas State Wildcat, but with Love settling into the bench role, I can’t see Wade getting time unless there is an injury to one of the starters.

The consistency of playing an eight-man, or at times, a nine-man rotation can certainly help a young team like the Cavaliers. That is especially true when those bench players are savvy veterans like Love and Rubio.

I’ve been really impressed with both. In the game against the Denver Nuggets Love had 22 points in only 20 minutes. Rubio is just dishing the the ball left and right and is simply attacking teams on both ends of the floor and has sparked this squad at times. Winning always helps, but to have these two quality players in a bench rotation could spell a lot more victories as this team continues to gel!
