Cavs: Full roster of players – Rotation Players

Ricky Rubio (PG)

Ricky Rubio was at one time a European phenom, and while he has carved out a long and productive career he never turned into the superstar many expected him to be. He is a solid veteran guard who can run the bench offense and help players like Lauri Markkanen reach their potential. He is on an expiring deal so the team could re-sign him next year or go in another direction.

Dylan Windler (SG/SF)

Dylan Windler was one of college basketball’s best players even playing for the small Belmont University, and his varied offensive skillset made him a first-round pick in 2019. He has been plagued with injuries since, but he enters training camp healthy. If he can stay that way, he could establish himself as a key rotation player, and perhaps even a starter down the line.

Lamar Stevens (SF/PF)

With Larry Nance Jr. now in Portland, the role of big defensive stopper goes to Lamar Stevens. The former Penn State player is not afraid to take shots on offense, but the Cavs will hope he does not have to do that often. His role is coming into the game and taking on opposing forwards as a versatile defender with plenty of strength.

Lauri Markkanen (PF)

The Finnish big man Lauri Markkanen played his freshman season at the University of Arizona before he was taken with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. He spent the last four seasons with the Chicago Bulls, at times showing his shooting and scoring ability, at others looking lost and ineffective. The Cavs hope they can unlock Markkanen’s upside at the same time his spacing unlocks the Cleveland offense.
