Every single player on an NBA roster like the Cavs is a valued part of the team, a key piece of the franchise’s plan, a guy whose jersey every fan should have hanging up in their closet ready for game day, someone who will retire with the team.

Until they aren’t.

Players are constantly changing, and their current production and long-term outlook aren’t static. A player who was a franchise building block at one point can become the odd-man-out. An up-and-comer is a great option on a rookie contract but less palatable on a pay raise. Veteran role players fit better on a contender than a rebuilding squad. The Cleveland Cavaliers have to deal with this reality just as much as anyone.

Not every player is a lock to stay in Cleveland. Who on the Cavs could finish the year somewhere else?

The Cavs are not immune to these NBA facts of life, and as they try to gather the reigns and begin to ride up out of the rebuilding hole, they hope to build on a young core with a bright future. Not every player on the roster fits into that future. Some are relics of the past; others are going to be squeezed out as players get more expensive.

Anyone on the team is a candidate to be moved at the right price. If a superstar comes available the entire team could be in motion. More likely, the team will continue on its current trajectory, and that might mean saying goodbye to a hero, or moving on from a fan favorite youngster. Who are the 3 most likely Cavs players not to finish the year in Cleveland?
