The Cleveland Cavaliers have been among the league’s worst teams the past few seasons, slowly rebuilding their base of young talent after four straight seasons of contending for a championship drained it out. That has meant that the Cavs have often been at the bottom looking up at others in the standings.

That isn’t always a bad thing. Losing is difficult, for players, coaches and fans alike, but it does pay dividends in the NBA. Adding young talent, especially for a small-market team like the Cavs, is best accomplished through the draft. Three-straight losing seasons have yielded Darius Garland, Isaac Okoro and Evan Mobley at the top of the draft.

The Cleveland Cavaliers now have a youth-stocked roster on the rose. Which teams across the NBA will the Cavs be better than next season?

Cleveland has a talented young player at every spot of their starting lineup, with a collection of more proven backups behind them. That youth will take time to fully develop, and hope to push for the play-in might be just that unless multiple young pieces take a major step forward.

Yet outside of Mobley these are all players who have gotten their NBA feet wet, and the talent level is high enough that the team should take a step forward this year. With multiple teams looking to bottom out, the Cavs should leap them in the standings on sheer talent level alone.

Who are those teams, and why should the Cavs be confident in leaping them in the standings this season?
