Even If LiAngelo Ball Fails To Impress…

If the Cavs do bring him in for some workouts, there is really no downside to it. Yes the media will go crazy, and I’m sure LaVar would be all over the sports talk shows, but in the end, the Cavs need more shooting, and Gelo can provide that. Not to mention, he has a good feel for the game, and is a smart passer.

If Ball were to be on the court at the same time as Garland or Sexton, defenses would likely leave Ball open. If there is one thing we learned from the 2021 NBA Playoffs, it is that shooting is probably the most important factor if you want to be a contender. However, if he shows up in Cleveland out of shape, and not in the same mindset he had in Vegas, then you just let him go.

To be honest, I really do think the Cavs should bring Ball in for a workout or two. There’s no harm in that. You also have to think of LiAngelo’s mindset about the NBA. Both of his brothers are high-level NBA players, so he knows what it takes to be on a roster. Unfortunately, you also have to believe that Gelo feels like he has been a disappointment. With that in mind, you would think he would take on an invitation to camp, and put his full effort into making it work.
