I have to admit, I’m super excited to see what new Cleveland Cavaliers draft pick Evan Mobley and the Cavs newly-signed big man Jarrett Allen can do together as a duo of twin towers to help the Cavs become a better team and enter a new stretch of success in their history. Aren’t you excited?

By drafting Mobley, the 7-foot big out of USC and partnering him with Allen, the Cavs’ other 7-footer, the Wine and Gold have instantly become a better team.

I’m a historian when I look at sports. I can’t help it because I’m in the over 50 years old crowd. I’ve shared before, in my previous articles, that I loved what the Cavs were as a team back in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Back then it was the newly-drafted Brad Daughtery big man from North Carolina, partnering alongside veteran center/ forward Larry Nance Sr., who was traded to the Cavs in 1987.

The new Mobley and Allen duo remind me already of that same potential of Daugherty and Nance Sr. We could very well see, as Mobley and Allen develop a chemistry on the court, a new stretch of Cavs success and reaching the playoffs once again.

NBA Draft insider Chad Ford was recently quoted on his Twitter account saying that the Cavaliers had just drafted the “highest ceiling player” in the 2021 NBA Draft class in Mobley, which was telling.

Let’s take a closer look and see what Mobley alongside Allen can now do to help the Cavs.
