Cavs: How potential FA target Josh Hart could help on both ends
By Zane Harris
How Hart could help the Cavs offensively
On the offensive end, Hart could be a viable catch-and-shoot player, to some extent, although he has been fairly streaky from three-point range.
Hart has hit 39.6 percent, 33.6, 34.2 and then last season hit 32.6 percent from three in his four seasons. That said, while this past season, he hit only 30.3 percent of his corner threes, for his career, that’s been 39.3 percent, so if he can be more efficient on those, that could aid his overall clip.
From there, Hart is a quality cutter, and although Hart is not necessarily a key scorer, he is a capable driver and finisher as well. That could be impactful game-to-game.
Along with those things scoring-wise, Hart could help the Cavaliers’ ball movement. Hart has been primarily an off-ball player in his career, but he has shown flashes of quality playmaking, and had 2.3 assists per outing last season.
That sort of thing could aid the likes of Darius Garland, for example, and if he’s still around, Collin Sexton, too; Sexton has recently been a key player mentioned in trade rumors.
In any case, with Hart, he’s an unselfish player that can help initiate ball-swings, and while he has had his ebs and flows, is capable of making a difference from deep.
Alright so from there, we’ll take a close look at how Hart could impact the Cavaliers on the defensive end of the floor.
