Cavs draft: 3 potential career outcomes for Jalen Green with CLE
By Joey Cornell
#3: Green comes in ready to learn, could end up being a solid Cavs starter
Finally a third career outcome for Jalen Green if he’s drafted by the Cavaliers could be that he may very well come in as a rookie ready to learn and improve his game every day and become an important solid starter/building piece to the organization. Young players that usually come with the mentality to want to be great and come in and help out right away are usually the ones that end up successful.
He would be a great running mate to go with Darius Garland, Isaac Okoro and Jarrett Allen, and that alone would give Cavs fans something to look forward to in the future with a young solid core as that one would be.
The ceiling is high for Green as he is widely projected to be a top four pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, and it’s seemingly between him and Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs as to who the top guard prospect is, factoring in Cunningham as a wing/forward in that sense.
Now, there are several possibilities that could determine Jalen’s career in Cleveland and fortunately I see no potential downside if the Cavaliers do indeed draft him with his superstar potential, but on the other hand it could rough up some feathers with other players in the locker room, regarding a possible effect on Sexton, seemingly.
As far as talent, the sky is the limit for Green and he has tools that could very well help the Cavs offensively as well as give the fans something to watch for as the draft approaches. Coming from the NBA G League is definitely a plus for teams too, as it helps players develop with pros as soon as they graduate high school.
And taking that route seemed to be the best thing for Green and the knowledge and experience that comes with it may help slow the game down as he prepares himself for the league.
