Cavs draft: 2021 prospect Evan Mobley looks to be the ideal modern big
Mobley would prove to be the ideal modern big for the Cavs
He has the ability to do nearly anything and everything you ask him to do on both ends, whether you ask him to score the ball, defend the rim, make the right pass, run the pick and roll game, etc. His versatility should be intriguing for all the teams at the top of the 2021 NBA Draft, and Mobley’s handle for a big is something that stands out, too.
In addition, Mobley’s shown plenty of capability to be a factor as a switchout player on to perimeter players when needed, too, as we hit on, which could be huge for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Bigs that have the lateral quickness and agility to do that are invaluable in today’s league, at least as far ones that can still protect the rim/help in the paint to go along with that. And Mobley, to drive it home, is that kind of big, which could aid Cleveland, if the Cavs can communicate through to help matchups from there/get in defensive rebounding position.
Anyway, it’s clear that Evan Mobley, factoring in both ends, could be such a huge difference-maker for the Cavaliers if they were to select him in the upcoming draft.
Albeit he isn’t the top prospect in this draft it seems, as Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham appears to be, according to many draft pundits.
Although Mobley isn’t projected to go first in the 2021 NBA Draft he doesn’t seem too likely to fall out of the top three.
And if the Cavs get lucky enough to land a top three pick, Evan Mobley seems to be a guy that would be extremely hard to pass on.
