#1: Green could provide big-time scoring for the Cavs

The first way that Jalen Green will impact the Cleveland Cavaliers if he becomes a part of the team is by providing the team with a reliable first scoring option, perhaps even as his rookie season were to progress. In the near future he could be that player, though, clearly.

Green is already lethal from almost anywhere on the floor. He is extraordinarily athletic which makes him a force to be reckoned with at the basket.

Along with this, Green showed noticeable improvement since his high school/AAU days as a three-point shooter. Players that go the college route are allowed one to four more seasons in which they play with a three-point line that is closer to the basket than those that play in the NBA or G-League.

Despite being thrown right into basketball against grown men and a pushed back three-point line, Green thrived in the G-League’s Orlando bubble with the G League Ignite, and proved that he deserves to play with the best next season.

In his games in the G-League bubble, Green shot 36.5 percent from three on 5.9 attempts from behind the arc a game, and showed impressive shot-making abilities, as KJG’s Amadou Sow hit on. With this being his first year in professional basketball, it is not insane to believe that this number will only go up.

This will be something that would greatly impact that Cleveland Cavaliers offense and make life for players like Collin Sexton and Jarrett Allen so much easier.

With a player like Green on the floor with an accurate deep ball that he is confident enough to let loose from almost anywhere, it will not allow defenses to clog the paint for Allen or shut down driving lanes for Sexton.

Along with the lethal three ball in his arsenal, Green is an animal around the basket. His athleticism has been compared to that of Anthony Edwards, Andrew Wiggins and O.J. Mayo.

He has a lightning quick first step that leaves defenders in his dust. Along with this, he can jump out of the gym. If he is wearing a Cavaliers uniform next season, expect to see countless posters from him for the Wine and Gold.

And to reiterate, he could establish himself as Cleveland’s top scoring option pretty early on, although not necessarily in his first season. But make no mistake, he would appear to be Cleveland’s long-term primary scoring option.
