Collin Sexton did have some tough outings in the month of February, as did many players individually in games last month, in what was clearly the toughest one for the Cleveland Cavaliers this season.

That said, Sexton has rebounded, and the Cavs, while their 10-game losing streak last month was obviously less than ideal, have gained some momentum back leading into the All-Star break to come here soon. The Cavs have one more game on Wednesday versus the Indiana Pacers before heading into the second half, with the All-Star break to come before.

Circling back, though, it’s not like Sexton didn’t make his presence on-ball, but he has had nine straight games of having 20-plus points for the Wine and Gold, and that’s played into Cleveland having won four straight outings. Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen, who’ve developed a really nice two-man game in their own right, have been big as well, anyhow.

Albeit in that span, Sexton’s had 26.6 points per contest on 49.1 percent shooting, and has hit 1.9 of his 5.2 three-point attempts per outing, a 36.2 percent clip. And on the season, he’s hit 40.0 percent from deep, for further context.

In that aforementioned span, while he has had 3.6 turnovers per contest, seemingly due to him losing it in traffic as a ball handler at times primarily, him having 4.3 assists per game in that span, and on the season, has been a positive as well. The vision for Sexton, especially in a secondary playmaking sense, has been improving, which has been meaningful.

Sexton also had a big-time performance at the Houston Rockets on Monday, in which he had 39 points, to go with eight assists, and he even had to have stitches put in at halftime to repair his busted lip.

Anyhow, it’s evident that Sexton looks poised to have another impressive second half for the Cavs. So what might be a few focus areas for him the rest of the way, then?

We’ll emphasize two points of emphasis for Sexton for the Cavs in the second half here.

The first has to do with him continuing to initiate contact as a driver.
