#1: Jan. 15, 2021 for the Cavs vs. the New York Knicks

The final game that will be covered and the best game that Andre Drummond had during his short stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers comes from the Jan. 15, 2021 matchup against the New York Knicks.

This is by far the most impressive game statistically that Drummond had while with the Cavs along with him being the driving force for the Cavaliers bringing home the victory.

He finished the game with an otherworldly stat line of 33 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field. Along with this, Drummond pulled in 23 rebounds, with seven of them being on the offensive end. On the defensive end, Drummond got two steals and blocked two shots.

It is very rare that you see a center finish a game with 30 points and 20 rebounds anymore outside of MVP candidates like Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic.

To see Drummond have a game like this showed what he was capable of and what he could do for the Cavaliers. Games like this are what makes it such a hand choice for the front office to choose to move on from Drummond for the more youthful Allen.

Lastly, it is games like this that make it so mindboggling to see reports saying that the Cavaliers would be lucky to get a first-round pick back in exchange for Drummond, such as seemingly one featuring the opinions of four executives from The Athletic‘s Sam Vecenie (subscription required).

While he does not fit in the best to the modern way that basketball is played, his performance against the Knicks shows that there is still clearly a place for Drummond in the league and he has the ability to take over the game any night.

Now, Drummond’s finishing inefficiency this season hasn’t likely helped in an overall sense, but the production has spoken for itself to some degree, one would think still.
