3 potential lineups Cavs could run with 2021 draft prospect Jonathan Kuminga

Potenial Cavs-Kuminga lineup #3: Garland, Sexton, Kuminga, Love, Allen
The lineup above projects to be the closing lineup for the Cavaliers, one that can be used in tight games. The decision here to substitute Okoro for Kuminga adds more offense to the lineup while not sacrificing as much defense. With all the talk about Kuminga’s offensive potential, his defensive potential is just as big.
Standing at 6-foot-8 with a 7-foot-2 wingspan, Kuminga has the size, quickness and IQ to be an elite defender in this league. Again, this lineup allows Kuminga to work on and off-ball, allowing the game to come to him with the scoring abilities from the guards and Kevin Love, provided Love were to still be in the fold, of which again, perhaps he could very well be.
And staying on Kevin Love, having a veteran in the lineup allows this potential five-man lineup to have a “security blanket” in the sense as Love has been one of the go-to options in a lineup since being drafted.
Considering the defense as a whole, it can be worrisome considering the small backcourt duo paired with an aging Love being the weak points but, both Garland and Sexton have made strides in this department and the hope here is that Kuminga and Allen can compensate for the defense lost with Love on the court.
Moreover, we’ll eventually have to see if they will end up having the opportunity, but Jonathan Kuminga could be a big-time difference-maker for the Cleveland Cavaliers, if they were to select him in the 2021 NBA Draft.
