3 potential lineups Cavs could run with 2021 draft prospect Jonathan Kuminga

Potential Cavs-Kuminga lineup #2: Garland/Sexton, Dylan Windler, Kuminga, Larry Nance Jr., Allen
Looking at this lineup, Kuminga still projects to be the first player off the bench but, he replaces Okoro instead of Love. This decision will depend on whether or not Cavs head coach J.B. Bickerstaff likes Kuminga at the small forward or power forward position. Since Garland-Sexton have run the backcourt together, the Cavaliers have been staggering their minutes, allowing them to operate as the lone playmaker in certain situations.
This lineup also sees Dylan Windler replacing one of the backcourt guards, adding more length while still having a shooter in the lineup. This added length will help this lineup’s defense as Windler has shown activity on both sides of the basketball. Lastly, Larry Nance Jr. is added to the lineup, further improving the defense.
Nance has turned himself into an incredible 3-and-D player, averaging a career-high 2.4 steals per game (second in the NBA) and shooting 42.9 percent from three-point range mostly in a starting 4 role with Love having been sidelined before sustaining injuries himself.
That was most recently involving a fourth metacarpal fracture on Nance’s left hand, and Nance is currently shot 38.1 percent overall from deep on the year (he had sustained a right wrist sprain, also, though).
Circling back, anyway, this potential Cavs lineup is an enticing one, seeing as the shooting and scoring ability from either component of the Garland-Sexton duo should help keep the offense afloat alongside Kuminga and the off-ball play of both Windler and Nance.
And Allen’s ability as a rim-runner and shot-blocker brings everything in this lineup together and my early predictions think that this is a lineup we should see quite a bit if Kuminga ends up on the Cavaliers via the 2021 NBA Draft.
