3 Cavs players to watch in remaining games on road trip
While this Western Conference road trip the Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves on is not their longest road streak of the season, to this point, for one, this could be the most grueling stretch of basketball the young Cavaliers have played so far.
After a close loss in Phoenix versus the Suns on Monday and a blowout at the hands of the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, Cleveland will look to regroup when they take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night.
The Cavaliers find themselves short on power forwards at the moment as Larry Nance Jr. suffered a fractured fourth metacarpal in his hand last weekend, and Kevin Love has yet to return from reaggravation of a high-grade right calf strain. On the plus side, per recent reports, Love could seemingly be back pretty soon for the Wine and Gold.
Albeit with Love still sidelined, this led to Cavs head coach J.B. Bickerstaff making the change of adding Jarrett Allen to the lineup alongside Andre Drummond. So far, Bickerstaff has tried to keep the two big men separate, as they only had shared the floor for four minutes per game before the lineup switch.
While the Cavaliers are a bit shorthanded at the power forward position, they still have their primary guards and small forwards at their disposal, and right now, the Cavaliers strength is their young core of guards and wings.
Cleveland will need all hands on deck if they want to break this five-game losing streak, and here, we’ll hit on a few players, in particular, to keep an eye on during the next few outings.
Three Cavs jump out as ones to watch in the remainder of this road trip.
I’ll get started with a young wing.
