Reason #2 for LeBron to be NBA MVP: His three-point shooting has added to his greatness

Another thing that LeBron has shown in the 2020-21 season is that he still has not stopped improving. James is shooting three-point shots at a great rate.

At this point in the season, LeBron is averaging 2.8 made threes per game while shooting 6.8 attempts and hitting 40.9 percent from behind the arc, all of which are career-highs. In his 18-year career, LeBron has never shot the basketball as well as he has this season. That is a testament to his work ethic and drive. The fact that James has accomplished so much already and is still improving is ridiculous.

For his career, LeBron has always struck fear into the hearts of opposing defenders due to his size, strength, and athleticism. He could simply bully his way to the basket or embarrass the opposition with his passing abilities, as again, us Cleveland Cavaliers fans have seen over and over and over over the course of his two stints with the Wine and Gold.

But now, LeBron’s added three-point shooting feel/touch he’s displayed this season has made him even more of a scoring threat when he is on the floor. And that of course makes him an even more valuable player to his team. When LeBron is on the floor, you have to guard him as if he can destroy you from anywhere on the floor.

That skill set is undeniably one of an MVP candidate. But stats and shooting are not all there is to LeBron’s case.
