#1: Isaac Okoro proves to have a jump shot
The final major wish that the Cavaliers have for their players is that Isaac Okoro comes into the league with a jump shot his rookie season. The outside shot is almost the only aspect of the game that Okoro was greatly questioned about when coming into the league.
Okoro did show promise in preseason action, and hit 45.5 percent of his three-point attempts, albeit that was only preseason.
He is already an athletic specimen which helps him be one of the best defensive stoppers in the 2021 draft class. This athleticism also comes in handy when he attempts to finish around the basket. He has a build that makes him capable of absorbing contact and still being able to convert at the hoop.
If he is able to start off with even an above-average jumper, it could be enough to propel him to be a favorite for Rookie of the Year. Once again, these are wishes, Cavs fans.
This would not only benefit just Okoro himself but the Cavaliers as a whole. With Andre Drummond likely being in the starting lineup a good chunk of the season at least, barring an injury, though he could seemingly be moved by the trade deadline, they are already losing a lot of potential spacing at the center position.
As a result of this, if Okoro is found out to be someone who cannot shoot for the life of them there will be little to no driving lanes for someone like Collin Sexton to get to the rim. Okoro is already making waves in the rookie class after hitting a game-winner in the preseason. Being someone who can be respectable from three-point range will put him into the upper echelon of rookies.
This is under the assumption that Okoro is mostly, in the starting small forward role, which would appear likely to be the case moving forward, anyhow.
Moreover, the Cavaliers will be hoping that Santa comes through with the Christmas magic and their young lottery picks can bud into future stars.
