Cavs draft: 3 potential career outcomes for Deni Avdija if he’s 2020 pick

Cavs potential outcome #3 for Avdija: Role player/energy spark plug
This outcome would be the result of playing the best players in the world in the NBA. He has tools on defense and offense but there’s always a question mark on overseas players for this reason. It’s easier to look good against lesser talent.
His ability to create and have a high basketball IQ is almost guaranteed, however. Deni could find himself as a spark plug for a team in need of relieving their starters. This could very well be in the mold of a Larry Nance Jr.-type player, in terms of one who comes off the bench but still plays down the stretch seemingly often.
Nance is one of the Cavaliers’ best all-around players, and even pretty early on, the same could definitely be said in the same way with Avdija. His skills and abilities may be more useful, though, off the bench like Nance’s are, at least at this point, it seems.
If Darius Garland, Collin Sexton and Kevin Love all start that could create an odd fit considering they’re all primarily scorers. If he’s not extremely productive and as potent as he seems to have the potential to be, this could be a good spot for him to get minutes and opportunities.
Albeit in the early going, if Avdija’s selected by the Cavaliers in the 2020 NBA Draft, that could be sensible. That said, with Avdija’s all-around style, he’d seem to be destined for starting minutes sooner rather than later, even still.
His size, speed and IQ should help him make an impact for whatever team takes him immediately and the rest will be revealed eventually with time. There will be plenty of question marks on draft night on Nov. 18 (virtually), and he seems to be one of the bigger ones in that realm.
But the Cavaliers could see a really high reward in the near future if they select Avdija.
