Cleveland Cavaliers potential experimental lineup #2: Garland-Sexton-Porter Jr.-Love-Drummond

The previous experimental lineup was overly big with Nance Jr getting minutes at small forward. This lineup however is almost the complete opposite. With Garland, Sexton and Porter Jr. all on the court together, this would be one of the smaller lineups in the Cavaliers arsenal.

This would be another lineup based on high offensive potential. The Cavaliers know what they will get from veteran bigs like Love and Drummond, but Garland, Sexton and Porter remain more of a mystery.

If the best-case scenario occurs and all three of these young guards take big leaps next season, this lineup could be a fast-paced, three-point shooting threat for the Cavaliers.

The main concern would be considering the defensive abilities of this unit. Garland, Sexton and Kevin Love could all be categorized as poor defenders, and while Porter Jr. has shown flashes of defensive potential, he still has to prove his abilities.

The question that coach Bickerstaff would have to answer before deploying this lineup is whether the offensive ceiling of these five players is high enough to make up for the poor defense that they would likely produce.

But again, that is why this is simply an experimental lineup. It is a grouping that the Cavaliers would have to test, which is why their in-market training bubble is so important.
