It was great to see the Cleveland Cavaliers and Larry Nance Jr., to go with LeBron James, show their support for the Cleveland Browns.

It’s been really tough for us Cleveland Cavaliers fans with the Wine and Gold having not been in game action since March 10. The Cavs were not a team invited to Orlando for the 2019-20 NBA season’s restart, and ultimately, Cleveland’s now-past season has been done for a heck of a while now.

It is a plus that the Cavs will be conducting their voluntary in-market bubble workouts beginning on Monday and running through Oct. 6, though. That should at least help young pieces such as Darius Garland, Collin Sexton and Kevin Porter Jr., among others.

Granted, given how Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium recently reported that the next season will begin no earlier than Christmas Day (Dec. 25), it is clear that the Cavs will need to continue furthering player development. That again is so paramount for their young pieces, in particular.

What is cool to know for Cleveland sports fans, especially, though, is that Sunday will mark the beginning of the 2020 season for the Cleveland Browns.

Moreover, it was really nice to see the Cleveland Cavaliers, Larry Nance Jr. and LeBron James tweet out their support for the Browns on Sunday.

Larry Nance Jr., who as Cavs fans know with his dad, Larry Nance Sr., being a Cavs legend, is an Akron native and a diehard fan of the Brownies, like countless others, really.

Nance, who again had a career-best with 10.1 points per game, to go with 7.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 steals per contest in 2019-20, in response to the Cavaliers quote tweeted out his support for the Browns on Sunday.

This was right after the Cleveland Cavaliers tweeted out a picture Nance in a Baker Mayfield jersey, and with Sunday being Week 1 for the Browns, that and the “DAWG CHECK” was on-point. Again, Nance followed suit, and as a fellow big-time Browns fan, too, I was always for it.

Larry Nance Jr. and again, countless others in Northeast Ohio and surrounding areas will be hoping that the Orange and Brown will be able to pull out a victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The game is at 1 P.M. and will be broadcasted on CBS, and that above picture was from a while ago but is still a supportive one before the COVID-19 impact (just for reference).

In addition to that, LeBron James, who is obviously an Akron native as well, albeit his Browns fandom hasn’t been Nance-level, honestly, displayed support for them on Sunday, too. For context, the current Los Angeles Laker, as we know, is the Cavs GOAT player and needs no added description here. But props to LeBron also for this!

Granted, Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, Myles Garrett and company will be in for a tough Week 1 game against 2019 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and a Ravens squad that finished 14-2 last season and had the league’s #1 rushing attack by a mile.

That’s even more so with how the Browns have a new head coach in Kevin Stefanski and plenty of new faces, and with how, given the impact of COVID-19, the NFL did not have a preseason. You’d also think that the Browns’ big win over Baltimore early on last season has to be added motivation for the Ravens.

Not to mention, Cleveland and Mayfield heavily disappointed last season and finished 6-10, but I’d imagine Stefanski should be much more competent overall than what was a disastrous fit with 2019 Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens. That should help the Browns considerably, from my perspective.

In any case, it was cool to see the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James and of course, Nance, who is such a faithful Cleveland sports fan, tweet out their support for the Brownies ahead of their Week 1 game on Sunday. Let’s hope that the Browns can find a way to pull off a stunner; with Cleveland’s Week 1 woes for so long, though, I’m not holding my breath.

Swinging back to Nance and the Cavaliers a bit, however, while it’s going to be a ways away it seems yet before their next season begins, it’s evident that Nance is again set to be a crucial contributor for them.

Plus, him hitting 35.2 percent of his 2.8 three-point attempts per game in 2019-20 was particularly noteworthy, and his improved handle should make him even more capable as a playmaker going forward, too.

Anyhow, in the mean time, it’s always refreshing to see Nance be such a passionate Cleveland Browns fan, and it was really nice to see the Cavaliers and LeBron show their support for the Brownies on Sunday, too.
