#2: Windler should be a capable secondary playmaker for the Cleveland Cavaliers

Windler should be a capable secondary playmaker for the Cavaliers at times throughout games, too, and/or is an instinctive ball-mover. Windler could function as a solid pick-and-roll ball handling option for the Wine and Gold at times as well, and could very well hit Sexton for catch-and-shoots if bigs look to prevent pull-ups/floaters from him.

Sexton, who again made strides as a cutter as 2019-20 progressed, could get some quality looks on the interior and in the baseline mid-range area after kickouts/extra passes from Windler.

Windler could very well be a quality secondary playmaking option for the Cavs in his stretches on the floor next season/in coming years and while he could function as a roller in pick-and-pop scenarios on occasion for Darius Garland and Sexton, Windler should again create high percentage looks for Cleveland’s top scorers, too.

Sexton comes to mind with his all-around scoring package and improved off-ball feel he showed as last season progressed, and with Windler having a solid handle to pair with his touch as a cutter and overall shooting tool box, Windler should make Sexton even more lethal in instances together next season, I believe.

Windler had a respectable 15.2 and 13.6 percent assist rate in his junior and senior seasons as a Bruin, and his timing and prowess as a passer should very well aid Sexton, who is such a multi-faceted scorer for Cleveland.

Looking onward, this duo should be an exciting one to watch in their time together in the near future for the Cavs, provided Windler can be mostly healthy.

We’ll have to see as far as minutes-share for Windler, but Sexton should be a player that greatly benefits from his presence on the floor.
