Potential lineup #3 for the Cleveland Cavaliers involving Jackson: Garland-Windler-Jackson-Osman-Nance

This Cavaliers lineup would put an emphasis pace and shooting. A backcourt featuring Garland and Windler would have the potential to be very dangerous from three-point range.

Osman and Nance Jr. are both players capable of playing at a fast pace and hitting triples, too, and both had career-best clips from deep in 2019-20 at 38.3 and 35.2 percent. Also in this lineup, Jackson would be able to fit in seamlessly, shoot triples and be the defensive anchor for the perimeter.

It would be interesting to see how Garland and Jackson would fit together in a fast-paced offense, too. Using his speed and athleticism, Jackson would be a threat in the open floor on fastbreak opportunities. But he also could be effective as a cutter to the basket.

The big question in this scenario is if Garland is going to have the vision to see Jackson on cuts to the basket and get the ball to him. If Garland is able to be a consistent playmaker for the Cavs, as he showed more of as his rookie season wore on, I think Jackson could thrive in an uptempo lineup such as this.

This offense would also give Jackson opportunities in the drive-and-kick game.

With three effective shooters on the perimeter in Garland, Osman, and Windler, Jackson would have open opportunities to drive to the lane and either score the basket or kick out to a teammate for an open three-point look. Instead of being an idle 3-and-D wing, this lineup could put some control of the offense into the hands of Jackson.

Those are just some of the ways that Bickerstaff and the Cleveland Cavaliers could utilize Josh Jackson.

Next. It's fair to expect continued three-point shooting growth from Larry Nance Jr.. dark

The Cavs are in desperate need of wing depth, and if a still youthful player like Jackson is available during this upcoming free agency period, Altman would be crazy not to consider signing him at a reasonable deal, based on Fedor’s suggestion.
