Auburn Tigers wing Isaac Okoro would be a solid selection in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are set to have a very high pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and according to Tankathon, Cleveland is guaranteed to have a top six selection.

With them having a 19-46 record going into the novel coronavirus-induced hiatus, the Cavaliers will not be playing in the season’s formal resumption in Orlando, and Cleveland clinched having the NBA’s second-worst record. That solidified them having a top six selection, for context.

With their selection, it’s tough to say with certainty with the draft being in mid-October what direction the Cavs will go then. Cleveland reportedly sees LaMelo Ball of the NBL’s Illawarra Hawks, the Georgia Bulldogs’ Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman, who played briefly for the Memphis Tigers, as their top tier of prospects.

Granted, two of those players are guards, so while the agent of prospect Killian Hayes of the BBL’s Ratiopharm Ulm hit on that Cleveland has very little to no interest in drafting a guard, that could seemingly just be a smoke screen. Needless to say, it’s hard to read much into those comments with the draft a ways away.

In any case, to me, I can’t say I’d be completely displeased with Cleveland selecting Ball or Hayes, for instance, but I’d personally be more than fine if the Cavs went defense-first.

In that regard, pieces such as Auburn Tigers wing Isaac Okoro, USC big Onyeka Okongwu, Florida State’s Patrick Williams and/or Devin Vassell come to mind. In this case, Okoro definitely stands out, though, to me, and I’ll highlight that here.

Here, I’ll emphasize two key goals for Okoro for 2020-21 if he is selected in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The first goal is more of the overall variety.
