3 potential lineups the Cavaliers could use involving Anthony Edwards

Potential lineup #3 for the Cleveland Cavaliers involving Edwards: Garland-Edwards-Dylan Windler-Love-Drummond
This third and final lineup is almost entirely boom-or-bust. It could be the perfect lineup to maximize the talents of Edwards. A lot of his scoring is going to come on drives to the basket, and having Garland, Dylan Windler, and Love on the floor would provide Edwards with the spacing he needs to attack as well as kick-out options for jump shots.
In addition to that, if Garland is able to improve his game during his second year, this lineup could be beneficial for him as well. As a best-case scenario, this lineup could be the Cavaliers’ top one in terms of three-point shooting.
But it could also be a train-wreck defensively. As was mentioned before, Garland was terrible defensively in his rookie season. Edwards’ defense is a mystery and no one knows what Windler, who didn’t play in 2019-20 due to complications involving a stress reaction in his left leg, will be on defense. Also, Love has never been known for his defensive versatility.
The only good defender in this entire unit would be Drummond, at least in the on-ball sense, meaning any team with a good trio of perimeter scorers would likely torch this Cavaliers lineup.
But if this lineup is effective enough offensively and if the system allows for the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Edwards to thrive, Bickerstaff would be crazy not to use it during this upcoming season.
We obviously do not know how Anthony Edwards would be used if he ends up being selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2020 NBA Draft. But for now, it’s enjoyable to speculate on what the explosive guard could bring to the team.
