Cavs: Second bubble would likely be key growth opportunity for 3 young players
By Dan Gilinsky
Darius Garland would likely benefit if the Cleveland Cavaliers were involved
Darius Garland was underwhelming from a scoring standpoint last season, as he’s more talented of a scorer I believe than his 12.3 points per game scoring average in 2019-20.

Garland was willing enough it seemed as a shooter. Hopefully next season, though, Garland will be more sure of himself on-ball, especially in pick-and-roll scoring situations, and not be overthinking it, which it seem like he did a bit as a rookie.
Albeit that was somewhat understandable, as Garland only played in five games in his lone collegiate season at Vanderbilt, due to a meniscus tear.
He is reportedly ready to roll going toward next season in regards to that, though, and I believe he could be much better at creating space off-the-bounce in 2020-21.
On the plus side, Garland did show positive signs as a playmaker, and that helped out pieces such as Collin Sexton, Love, Cedi Osman and others.
In his last 26 games active, Garland had 5.1 assists per outing, and at least on a positive note, he did show plenty of flashes as a shooter in his first year.
If a second bubble plays out, and Garland can at least get in some quality burn for his growth, that could be nice for him against other teams before 2020-21. That would allow the Cleveland Cavaliers to get another look at how Garland has been progressing in regards to getting himself back more engaged as a shooter and still playmaker, too.
It’d likely be meaningful for Garland to get some more off-ball/shot relocation work as well, which I believe could be a bigger part of his game next season.
The next player that this second bubble would likely be especially meaningful for is a player that showed plenty of promise in 2019-20 for Cleveland.
